History of Us

A little flower shop with a big history and a whole lot of heart.

PICKaPOSY has been part of the local community for generations, creating beautiful flowers and sharing in some of life’s most precious moments.

Our story stretches back to at least the 1960s, when PICKaPOSY was originally established by two ladies with a passion for flowers.

In 1975, Kay took over the business, beginning a wonderful new chapter.

For 37 years, Kay poured her heart and soul into PICKaPOSY. Running a small independent flower shop wasn’t always easy, but through hard work, determination and a genuine love for what she did, she kept the business going through the years.

Her dedication laid the foundations for the PICKaPOSY we know and love today, building a much-loved local florist known for beautiful flowers, personal service and genuine care for its customers.

In 2000, Michelle joined the team, working alongside Kay and sharing her passion for floristry. Over the years, Kay passed on her knowledge, experience and love for the business, helping shape the future of PICKaPOSY.

In 2012, Michelle took over the business. She wasn’t simply taking over a flower shop, but continuing a legacy that Kay had spent so many years building.

Kay’s hard work will always be part of our story, and we hope she would be proud to see PICKaPOSY still blooming today.

One of our favourite memories came in 2016, when two customers celebrating their golden wedding anniversaries told us that PICKaPOSY had created their wedding flowers 50 years earlier, back in 1966.

What a wonderful reminder of just how many special moments our little flower shop has been part of!

Today, PICKaPOSY continues to create beautiful floral arrangements for every occasion, from birthdays and celebrations to heartfelt farewells.

Although times have changed, the values at the heart of our business remain the same: beautiful flowers, friendly service and a genuine passion for what we do.

We are incredibly proud of our history, grateful to everyone who has supported us over the years, and especially thankful to Kay for the wonderful legacy she left behind.

Over the years, the flowers may have changed, but the love behind them never has.
