The Season Of Autumn

The most colourful season of all the year is the wonderful season of autumn, it transitions from summer to winter. The British Autumn begins from the 1st September.

In the UK Harvest was the original name for this season, which later become more commonly known as the season of autumn. Fall in America originates from the phase ‘fall of the leaf’ which marks the arrival of this season it’s the most recognizable thing when all the leaves gently sway and dance to the ground, to make a carpet of the most fantastic colours.

We absolutely love autumn in our lovely little quirky shop. It is the literally the second spring where every leaf is a flower.
We will be very busy. The window boxes get changed along with our windows which all mark the arrival of autumn. We change them from all the pretty pastel colours of summer to all vibrant Oranges, glorious rich reds with natural barks and berries to celebrate this absolutely colourful season. The effects are amazing.

In floristry it marks the arrival of the flourishing rich browns, oranges, and burgundy foliage’s filtering through to the shop.

The growers will spray foliage’s like Grevilea, Eucalyptus (Cinerea) Oak leaves (Quercus Rubra) and even Hard Ruscus will get sprayed to Red, Orange, copper, or black. These look fabulous along with the natural foliage’s.
We will also start adding Pumpkin picks to our deliveries when Halloween arrives as a quirky nod to Halloween.

Try your hand at a little bit of flower arranging? Harvesting all those amazing rich foliage’s from your garden along with these rich red or orange berries and arranges them into a vase yourself. You don’t have to be the most amazing florist, it’s about just those foliage’s and berries all flowing into a vase. There’s no structure just let them look like a natural hand picked vase arrangement. They would look absolutely amazing in a living room or simply a great vase in the middle of your kitchen table. The best thing of all is that they are all hand picked from your garden. How amazing is that!

Why not maybe send a loved one a glorious autumn arrangement to celebrate a special occasion. Maybe it’s someone’s Birthday or mark an Anniversary in this season. Wouldn’t it be lovely to send someone flowers all in these rich and vibrant colours. Have browse through our autumn collection for some great ideas to send a lovely autumnal gift.
